There is so much excitement, certainly in the media about the forthcoming election. History repeats itself with one party blaming another for the economy, the NHS and lack of funding, poor roads etc etc. It is incredible that the distinct lack of leadership once again raises its ugly head to appear in full colours. When looking at the bigger picture, how can anyone take either of the main parties seriously, one of whom is supposed to navigate, not only the UK state of the economy, debt, lack of funding and so on for important aspects of society, but also the position of the UK in this world. Our government wastes masses of money on attending G7 summits, World Economic Forum meetings and so on to discuss the importance of climate change to the world, while eagerly handing out billions to Israel and the Ukraine to fund wars that are causing more climate damage than the whole population of the UK driving our cars and going about our business, not to mention the loss of human life on a massive scale and other such money draining causes both at home and away. Since when has leadership been so selective in how it views and presents a particular topic to the voters, but disregards its own words? Is this hypocritical, or do these individuals, not understand the topic fully, or is it a simple blatant disregard because it supports an agenda that is outside of what is told to the taxpayer, in effect their employer? So many questions, I know, but surely leadership is about being knowledgeable about the “facts” that you share and then following through personally on actions decided, as well as ensuring all team members support the vision and goals, and do the same? Perhaps the fact that leadership takes, as we would say in the North “Balls” to firstly make decisions that might not always be popular, for example instead of throwing money at the NHS which disappears into a very large black hole, to take a different route to build an NHS that is fit for today’s needs and purpose. To deliver on what you say. None of this attitude of, “Do as I say, not what I do leadership”. We are told that we live in a democratic country. What does this actually mean? It means, as Tucker Carlson said in his latest interview with Neil Oliver words to the effect that “Democracy is something that I have a stake in, I own a piece of this democracy and in so doing am entitled to freedom of speech, free will and the ability to vote out a government using fair and transparent processes.” A long stretch from the democracy currently being exhibited – we decide, we tell you what to do and you do it. The “We” are big business and unelected bodies, such as the WHO, WEF and who stands to gain from influencing the government to ensure it favours the bottom line of large corporations whether British or otherwise, or to indirectly take control of the populous to then feed the interests of their stakeholders. You may be thinking I am talking a load of twaddle. In a democratic world you can tell me that and I can choose to accept or reject it in as free manner, offering my two penn’orth. A bit like “Speaker’s Corner” in Hyde Park, that sadly, even that has even been affected by the lack of freedom speech. I digress. However, looking at the current state of affairs in the world today, including the UK there is little to no true leadership. Someone who has clear vision and goals for the country that they lead, is without ego and speaks with clarity and integrity while acting in the best interest of their voters with the courage to take difficult, but necessary decisions to support needed change to improve the quality of life for all by driving a vibrant economy that is not only structured around big business, but supports SME’s as well, the main backbone to any economy. A government is an organisation. Anyone who does not deliver to the stakeholders, should be held accountable and given a chance to change, if that does not happen, to be removed, instead of being given multiple chances that the person actually becomes a laughingstock both on the national and international stage. Dare I say, removed without being given a large golden handshake for doing a terrible job! Change is painful, as the saying goes “No gain without pain.” The question is, has the pain threshold been reached and now we are ready and willing to smash a hole in a system that is “broken” and no longer serving you and me, the taxpayer. We all have a choice at this election, to vote for more of the same – lack of honesty, transparency and leadership or to make a change by choosing candidates who have the voting public at heart, truly believe in and practice effective, honest and transparent leadership. Individuals who are not afraid to raise uncomfortable questions whether around immigration, vaccinations, the economy, NHS, banking systems that serve only the banks themselves, influence of private persons in public affairs and so on, and to then address them with well thought out and executed solutions. Most importantly, individuals and a party who are not directly funded by those who are doing so in order to drive their own agenda, that does not serve the voting taxpayer in any way. What will your choice be? I know what my choice is.
